What gets your email into the inbox
Major mailbox providers check whether whoever sends on behalf of your domain is allowed to. Three DNS records handle that: SPF lists the servers that may send for you, DKIM signs each message to prove it wasn’t altered in transit, and DMARC tells the receiving server what to do with mail that fails those checks, and sends you reports. Since February 2024, Gmail has required SPF or DKIM from every sender, and all three from anyone sending more than 5,000 messages a day to Gmail users. If you also send newsletters or invoices from another tool, that tool has to be authorized on your domain too. Because we manage DNS for the sites we build, we publish these records ourselves.
