Honest guide: no published Vue case study yet

Vue.js development for incremental modernization

Vue can be dropped into a page that already exists, one screen at a time, without rewriting the whole system. That’s its biggest strength and the main reason we’d recommend it. We’ll help you weigh it against React and plan the rollout.

When Vue makes sense

Vue is very good at one specific job: modernizing without shutting down what already works.

  • You run a PHP, Laravel or Django system with slow or dated screens, and a full rewrite isn’t on the table.

  • You want to add a search, a quote calculator or a dynamic form to a page that already exists.

  • Your team comes from HTML and CSS and needs something it can pick up quickly.

  • You maintain a Vue 2 app, which reached end of life on December 31, 2023.

  • You already work in Laravel, which lists Vue among its official starter kits.

Why we’re telling you this upfront

We don’t have a client project in Vue to show you yet, so we won’t claim experience you can’t verify. The sites and products you can actually visit are built with React, Next.js and WordPress. What we bring is a clear way to choose between Vue and React and a working method we use on our own products: reusable components, TypeScript, automated tests and frequent releases. If Vue turns out to be the best fit for your system after the assessment, we’ll say so plainly; if it isn’t, we’ll say that too.

Vue vs. React: two roads to the same place

Both build interfaces out of components. They differ in how you write them, which pieces are official and how easy it is to start small.

  • How you write it
HTML-based templates with directives, close to what front-end markup developers already know.
    Incremental adoption
Designed for it: mount it on one section of an existing page and it coexists with the rest.
    Official pieces
Routing (Vue Router) and state (Pinia) maintained by the Vue team itself.
    Pages that need to rank
    Nuxt, Vue’s server-rendering framework.
    Ecosystem
Large and active; Laravel ships it as one of its starter kits.
    Best for
Modernizing existing systems in stages and teams coming from HTML.
  • React

    How you write it
JSX: HTML inside JavaScript, flexible and very expressive.
    Incremental adoption
Possible too, though it’s more often used for the entire app.
    Official pieces
Just the library; routing and state come from third parties or a framework.
    Pages that need to rank
Next.js, the React framework behind our published client sites.
    Ecosystem
The broadest in front-end development: more libraries and a bigger hiring pool.
    Best for
New applications, large teams and projects that lean on many libraries.

General comparison as of October 2026. Vue 2 reached end of life on December 31, 2023; any new project should start on Vue 3.

How we’d bring Vue into your project

In stages, starting where it makes the biggest difference.

  • Islands of interactivity

We mount Vue only where it’s needed (a quote tool, a filter, a form) and the rest of the page stays as it is.

  • Composition API and TypeScript

The current way to write Vue 3, with types that catch mistakes as the codebase grows.

  • Shared state with Pinia

Vue’s official store for sharing data across screens without the tangle.

  • Vue 2 to Vue 3 migration

A staged plan covering dependencies, components and tests, without taking down the app your team relies on.

  • Nuxt when search matters

If pages need to rank, we render them on the server with Nuxt instead of building them in the browser.

  • Tests for every piece

Component tests and checks on the main flows, so each new piece plays well with the old ones.

How we’d run a Vue adoption

  1. 1

    Inventory

We review your current system, how it renders its pages and which screens draw the most complaints.

  2. 2

    First island

We pick a high-impact section and rebuild it in Vue to measure the difference.

  3. 3

    Shared foundation

We create the components, styles and conventions the next screens will reuse.

  4. 4

    Screen by screen

We keep going one section at a time, without shutting the system down or asking your team to stop working.

  5. 5

    The bigger decision

With several screens migrated, we decide together whether to keep going this way or move to a full Vue or Nuxt app.

We've worked with Crece Virtual on several web design projects for our Barranquilla operation. Their team demonstrated a solid command of both WordPress and React, adapting to the specific needs of each project based on our technical and functional requirements. What we value most is the quality of the codebase they deliver. Working with Crece Virtual transformed how we acquire clients. From the outset, they understood our business and guided us through everything: digital strategy, website architecture, and domain selection. The WordPress site, with a custom theme and widgets created in Elementor, turned out exactly as we needed: fast, clear, and designed to make requesting quotes effortless. Thanks to technical SEO, link building, and Google Ads campaigns in Medellín, our quote requests increased several times over, stabilizing at nearly 500% higher than at the beginning. The automation that sends leads from WhatsApp to Google Sheets, complete with all the data and UTM parameters, allows us to better measure sales and repeat purchases. Furthermore, their hosting, domain, and Google Workspace services have been reliable, and whenever we need support, they're always there with quick and clear answers.

The campaigns bring in good leads and have us well positioned on Google and Bing. They are very professional but also very approachable, always explaining everything clearly. I recommend them without hesitation.

Vue.js FAQ

Vue or React?

If you’re modernizing an existing system piece by piece, or your team comes from HTML, Vue is usually easier to adopt. If you’re starting a large new app, or need lots of libraries and a deep hiring pool, React has the edge. For public-facing sites, we weigh Nuxt against Next.js case by case.

Can we migrate to Vue gradually?

Yes, that’s its strong suit. Vue mounts on part of a page and coexists with everything else, so you move screen by screen while the system keeps running.

When is Vue the wrong choice?

When your team already knows React or Angular well and there’s no problem Vue solves better: switching ecosystems has a cost. It’s also overkill for a simple marketing site, where WordPress is enough and gives you an admin to edit content.

We’re still on Vue 2. What should we do?

Vue 2 reached end of life on December 31, 2023, so it no longer gets official security patches. Plan the move to Vue 3 in stages: flag incompatible dependencies, migrate components and test every flow before release.

Does Vue work with Laravel or plain PHP?

Yes. Laravel offers official starter kits with Vue (as well as React, Svelte or Livewire), and in PHP systems without a framework, Vue can mount on top of the pages the server already renders.

Can you work with our team on US hours?

Yes. We work remotely from Colombia, on UTC−5 all year, which matches Eastern time in the winter and Central time in the summer. Since we don’t have a published Vue case study yet, we usually start with a scoped code review so you can see how we work before deciding.

Is Vue what your system needs?

Tell us what system you have, which screens you want to modernize and who maintains it. We’ll tell you whether Vue is the way to go or if there’s a simpler path.

It helps to know what your system is built on (PHP, Laravel, Django or something else) and whether it already uses Vue, and which version.
